Q: Why should I join?
- Opportunity to serve the community.
- Meet other ECE people at the top of the class.
- Potential employers may also be an HKN member.
- Looks great on a resume.
Q: What are the the requirements to join?
- You are in the top quarter of the junior class, or top third of the senior class.
- Submit a paragraph bio about why you chose ECE and why you want to join HKN. Any other info you wish to provide is also encouraged.
- Submit a copy of your resume.
- Prospective members are encouraged to attend a few meetings during each semester.
- Every prospective member most complete at least 2 hours of community service.
Q: How much community service do I have to complete each semester?
- Two hours of community service per semester is required to be considered an active member.
- If you are completing community service for another organization, it can also count for HKN.
- Go to the "Service" tab to see current service opportunites.
Q: I am a Junior by credit, but technically this is my sophomore year.
Can I still join?
Q: What is the time commitment needed to become an officer?
- Must try to attend all officers meetings (see

- Must try to make other events (see calendar)
